We’ve all hammered out lengthy sessions of Monopoly, Risk and (heaven help us) The Game of Life over the years, and occasionally found them enjoyable, but with a nagging sense that there must be other, better games out there to which don’t rely heavily on random dice rolls to decide who wins and loses.

Holy Christ! How do you go about picking out from that lot the games which really suit you? Well, it’s new territory for me as well, and I figure if my own successes and failures can help anyone in the same position then I should effing well get on and do a blog about it. So here it is. I’m really excited about digging out new finds and sharing the best, and in hearing your own recommendations and opinions as well, so please scrawl all over the comment sections underneath the articles.
